Hey there hi there ho there everybody. Welcome to another episode of Rob plays Survivor Warriors: Japan. Tonight's episode will be a short one and therefore has no sponsors
Since the last episode, there has been some good progress as far as building relations and alliances goes. I will try to cover everything that happened from when the game began.
So it was very clear during the check-ins and the pre-game task that Fairplay would emerge not only as one of the winners but a big presence in the game. But I could not have predicted it to this extent. After the tribe division I Philip Shepard'd myself and all but told him "You own my vote Mr Fairplay". Now I am not a big fan of playing like this. I have, in the past, flipped my shit and made completely erratic decisions just to feel like I have a semblance of power. But in this game, that'd be suicide. My read on Fairplay is that of a neurotic control freak who loves showing off. Can't blame him. Winning an ORG requires a level of pizzazz. But Fairplay goes around boasting "I have a mole on Fujiwara", "I have many allies on Fujiwara" "I have friends on Fujiwara". It's amazing. But my subtle play of making Fairplay believe he has me in his pocket worked. He shares quite a lot of info with me. For instance, he told me that there is a potential F3 of Parv/Amber/PG. Is this legit info? *shrugs* who knows. But the fact that Jonny feels ok with sharing any intel is a very good sign. Speaking of Parv, I really enjoy talking to her. My initial assessment of her is definitely holding up. A very smart and clear thinker. Has great communication skills. Rarely lets a conversation become boring. And that's tough when talking to me. I would love to be able to work with her. At the very least I think if she and I end up on the same tribe post swap, I'd have a potential short term ally.
So back to JFP. Once he felt comfortable enough with me, he told me Nate came to him asking for an alliance. JFP asked Nate who he likes and wants to work with. Nate dogg said Coach for sure and maybe Rob. I can definitely see the allure in working with Coach. I am actually a little sad that Nate got to Coach before I could. So JFP agrees to this 4 person alliance and calls it "The Regulators". Some song apparently. Who cares about the name. And then, the same night when the alliance was formed, Nate outs the alliance in a public confessional. Thats good stuff. Thankfully it was kind of late in the night. But JFP got screenshots and someone on Fujiwara also caught it. I tried to talk to Parv about it and she said she heard Nate outed his and JFP's alliance. This was a little weird to me because my name was definitely mentioned in the confessional. Something that I should keep in mind. JFP talked to me about it and I suggested using it to "guilt trip" Nate into working with us without wavering. Now I'd like to break the 4th wall and tell the hosts that I couldn't have known it would affect Nate to a disturbing degree. I do apologize for that but it's a little weird that people are THAT sensitive. Sorry but I can't imagine being that affected. JFP tells me its all good now and he feels no major damage done. Coach didn't know anything about it and later didn't care when he was told. Coach is not going to be a problem to anyone.
And then we have Corinne. I loooooove taking to Corinne. I'd really like to stay in touch with her after the game. She is entertaining, funny, bitchy, narcissistic (in a healthy way). She likes to talk too. In general. I think she is a chatty gal. Bodes very very well for me since listening is my forte more so than talking. I "asked Corinne out on a Survivor date". Essentially me being cute about wanting an alliance with her. Sold her pretty much the same spiel that I don't talk a lot with others and she is my fav to talk to. I mean it's half true but yeah. She tells me that she approached Fairplay and wanted to make a majority alliance. But this was right after Nate confessionalgate had happened so JFP was not in much mood to talk alliances (he told me as much). So corinne tells me she is freaked about Fairplay how he prophesizes having allies everywhere and shoots down alliance talks. A funny story from this event. Both JFP and Corinne are telling me the exact same thing I tell Jon that he should let Corinne bring up my name so that she would think it was her idea. I tell Corinne she should bring me up as a "disposable number" so that JFP doesn't know how tight me and Corinne are. It's a hoot. Unless of course JFP got to Corinne first and told her to tell me this. That would be genius.
So all in all slow steady progress. I have a feeling in this game, it's not going to be about big moves. Big moves will be plentiful. It will be about dodging bullets. Whoever is better at that, will reign supreme. Alright that's enough for now. Will continue later. Good night folks.
