Hey there Hi there Ho there. Hows it going people. Welcome to Rob plays Survivor Warriors: Japan. Tonight is the pregame episode and we will be talking about the rest of the cast, we will be analyzing how I feel about them and what are the chances we end up working together. This episode is sponsored by The Cheesecake Factory, makers of the best dessert on the planet and by IKEA because they are going to finally deliver my daybed tomorrow.
So lets take a look at who we have here. First up is we have the Brazzilian bombshell Abi-Maria Gomez
Right off the bat, Abi is a bundle of entertainment for me. When she and I first talked she spoke to me in Spanish. So I thought to myself, "Hmmm, lets make this a shtick" So now, she speaks to me in broken english/spanish and I respond in spanish. Thank heavens for google translate. Its pretty apparent that she plays her "No English, sexual innuendos" card with everyone. Pretty fun presence actually. I'd like to work with Abi in some capacity.
Next up on the stage we have, Alex Angarita, the silent smiler
No much to say here. I had a very brief chat with him during check-ins and that was it. But judging by how early he was chosen by Siska, I'd say he has atleast been semi active in talking with people. So very little chance of he and I working together.
Next up we have ... well I don't have a description of her yet. Its Ambuhhh
I don't like Amber. And it's weird because I know next to nothing about Amber. And that's the problem. I don't like people who I don't have a good read on. And beyond that I think she is smart and perceptive. I wouldn't want to be working with her.
And next we have the Adorable Brat, Baylor Wilson
Baylor is fun. She is bubbly. She is spunky. She's the kind of player that loves to talk to others. I imagine she is very social and very like able. It can be threatening to be aligned with a player like that because they could literally charm their way to the top of an alliance. Thankfully I'm not on the same tribe a her because I have a feeling I would have gotten played by her. I imagine if we ended up on the same tribe post swap or at the merge, it is going to be interesting.
Now gracing the stage is, THE DRAGONNNNN SLAYERRRRR. COACH WADE
Coach is a cool dude. He is fun to chat with. Plays up the "Cool, macho, young jock" persona. Maybe that's him irl. But an ideal ally. All you need with a player like this is ego stroking. Then you can pretty much steer them in any way you want. I am looking forward to talk about the game with Coach.
Next up we have the ever excited California Corrine Kaplan
First off, I don't actually know if she lives in CA. I know she lives in the west coast so this is a guess for the sake of alliteration. Really great to talk to, when she actually does reply . Very good mix of humor, proper talk, flirtatious banter, sarcasm. If she would reply a little more consistently, I would be more on board with considering her my closest ally at this point. Regardless, I am going to actively try to work with Corinne.
Next on the stage we have the question mark Eliza Orlins
Her public shtick of talking a lot is kind of entertaining. And I did try and talk with her during check-ins. But nope. Maybe I wasn't engaging enough for her but yeah. Funny that she claims to be talkative, and then stops talking . Oh well. Like I said, a big question mark.
Next up we have the hidden gem, Greg Buis
When I say hidden gem, I don't mean in a good way. It's good that the hosts revealed who got votes. Couple that with how early Greg was chosen, I have to be very wary of him. I haven't talked 1:1 with him much. Not at all really. So he is not a friendly atm. In Age of Empires lingo, he is a neutral. Neither ally nor enemy.
At the halfway point we have the ladies man, godlike Jason Siska himself
I was kind of surprised to see Jason winning the vote. It could be that people figured out what the reward would be and no one wanted to be leader. Or people just voted for whoever talked to them the most. Either way, I underestimated Siska. He did make genuine efforts to talk to me. So I am guessing he did that with everyone. Definitely would not want to work long term with Siska. But he could be useful to get out of a bad situation.
And now ... we have ... our leader, the showstopper. Jonny Fairplay
I like Fairplay. And I think I am either tight with him or have a chance to get tight with him. During check-ins and while the challenge was going on, he approached me and wanted to talk about the challenge. I offered to vote for him if he wanted me to and also talked about working together. I actually did not expect to be picked this early. It could always be that Fairplay was trying to make me feel comfortable short term. But as of now he is the closes thing that I have to a #1 ally.
Next up we are being graced by the nice guy, Nate Gonzalez
Another cool dude who makes an effort to talk and be friendly. A very MOR relation with him I have and it will take more time and more work on my part to forge a meaningful bond.
Next we have the annoying little pool of incoherence. Neleh Dennis
Oh boy! Wow. Like wow. I consider myself socially weak and have to really think about what I am saying and how I am saying. But Neleh. Pfft. I wish that AIM had not fucked up and made me lose my history of the chat with her but wow. Where people have a train of thought which goes linearly from one thought to the next while staying grounded along the rails of coherence, Neleh's thoughts resemble Bugs Bunny on a pogo stick trying to run away from Elmer Fudd. I'd be really surprised if Neleh makes merge.
Next up, we have the cerebral chicka Parvati Shallow
Parvati is a special case. She hasn't talked to me much but has talked to me just enough. And there is something about her that is kind of engaging and interesting. Hard to pin point it. But Parvati is in my opinion, a level headed thinker who will make a great ally at the merge. I will try to talk to her and keep up a good bond with her.
Coming up we have the verbal assassin PG Law
Oh I just realized PG and Baylor are o the same tribe. I can tell you right now they are going to be aligned. It was uncanny how similar they were. At one point when I was talking to I think PG I said to myself, I have had this exact same conversation very recently. I checked my logs and sure enough. Baylor had said nearly the same thing in the same way. Lotta fun to talk to PG. But I am not especially bitchy. So anyone who is, like Baylor, will be her BFF. I'd like to work with PG but I think that because of being on different tribes, it is unlikely.
Dancing his way to the stage next is Spidahhman Reed Kelly
Reed is smarter than he lets on. He is definitely social and friendly and I won't be surprised if Reed is in the majority alliance. I don't think I will be working with Reed during the game but I envision he will go deep in the game.
Next we have the big guy, the adorable pirate Rupert Boneham
Not much chatting with Rupert. Very superficial. Nothing useful. The most telling fact was Fairplay picking him first. Should be interesting.
And thats it. We're done with th... oh wait. There's one more. The last person who is playing (questionably) in Warriors: Japan is
Yeah. Shrugging is the totality of my reaction when asked about Stephanie.
So all in all I haven't made a good connection with most of the people. I need to do more with respect to making connections and covering my bases. This looks to be a fun season and I am going to do my best to have a good time.
